Where have I been?

Yikes, my last post was September 16th.  And those were only pictures.  Well, sorry to all my 5 disappointed readers.  I know you've been eagerly anticipating my next post.  Truth is, it's been a very busy month and I've had family in town for a majority of it.  PLUS, work has been extra busy, especially this week since we have 2 designers out on vacation. Ok...I'm beginning to sound like a cheating spouse. I better stop there.

I've actually been debating whether or not to maintain this blog anymore.  I've liked blogging, don't get me wrong, but I just never do it anymore.  On the other hand, I suppose there isn't a specific quota I need to meet, though.  Half the time I'm blogging for myself anyway.  I guess I'll keep the blog for now and just see how I feel down the road more.

So, considering I don't have anything deep on my mind at the moment, I'm going to borrow from an old post idea and list some of my most recent obsessions.

Zumba
Who would of thought that I'd love dancing in public...with people...without shame?  Did I mention in public?  I absolutely LOVE Zumba!  I started taking it about 6 months ago at Gold's Gym (used to be Aspen Athletic Club).  After one class, I was hooked.  I feel rather lucky in that my first class was with one of the best instructors around.  I started attending her class regularly but when I took the position at Insight, I could only go once a week.  Thankfully, she has now opened her own studio, Co-Motion Group Fitness, and I can attend 4 times a week if I want!

Sunflower Farmers Market & Whole Foods
I'm lumping these two together.  Sunflower opened a couple months ago.  Their motto: Serious Food, Silly Prices.  They are an organic grocery store with lower prices than most in their market.  They offer some really great deals on produce, meats, etc each week.  Not everything is priced great but overall, they definitely offer some great deals.  Whole Foods opened this month.  Holy cow that place is awesome.  They truly know how to make a store look and feel beautiful.  I found myself wanting to buy more and more and more and had to tell myself to stop.  Even if you KNOW they do this to you through their pretty little store setup, it's hard to resist its charm.  I mean, they even make sausages behind a meat counter look pretty.  I loved the freshly ground peanut butter.  SO AMAZING.  Also I'm going to love their cheese selections and fresh baked breads.  Bought a little of both tonight and I was not disappointed.  Neither one of these grocery stores will be my regular store to shop at but I will say they offer a lot of things that other grocery stores do not.

Out with the OLD in with the NEW...TV shows
I've given up on a show I've watched for years: Biggest Loser.  I never thought I would give up on this show but I'm just fed up with it.  For one, Jillian left and she really was part of the glue that held the show together with Bob.  It just doesn't really work without the two of them working together.  Secondly, I cannot stand how they push advertisements at you in that show...and I WORK in advertising!  I just don't like their method of pushing it at you DURING THE SHOW.  Like we cannot tell they're ACTING when Bob comes up to a contestant and is like "Hey, I have a great way you can stop craving sugary snacks.  Try chewing on some Extra sugar free gum."  Seriously.  And thirdly, I'm not happy with some of the trainers methods for helping contestants lose weight.  It just doesn't seem practical because when they get home, it will be so much more challenging to lose it and keep it off.  I like the concept of the show but it's time to move on.

New show obsessions: Revenge and Pan Am.  ABC has the market on creative dramas, let me tell you.  I go to NBC for Comedy and ABC for drama.  Anyway, back to these 2 shows.  I don't want to ruin anything so I'll just let you check out their pages on ABC.  Revenge is rather dark and twisted.  Pan Am is mostly drama with a twist of suspense.  Both make for great TV.
